Bulk SMS Desktop tool: Send SMS Offline/Online

The SMSwarehouse desktop tool allows clients to compile SMS offline, go online (either via dial-up, adsl etc) and send the SMS. Users are required to have a registered account to download the desktop tool.

1. What would I need?:
   
   • This Bulk SMS desktop tool requires Java to be installed on your notebook or PC. Download and run this Java installer on your notebook, or PC.
   • You will also need some unzip software to Unzip the application. Here is recommended free unzip software which you can download and install if you do not already have zip software on your computer.
2. Test your target destination to confirm delivery and Register and verify your account.

4. Once logged in, click on Downloads and save the file in a memorable place on your pc/computer:

6. Open the folder where you unzipped the SMS desktop tool.
   
7. Create a shortcut to your desktop (if you want) so that you can easily access your application by putting your cursor on the "HOSTOFFLINE" name, right click on your mouse and click on create shortcut. Drag the shortcut to your desktop.  You may rename this shortcut if you wish.
   
   
8. Double click on the desktop tool icon on your pc - You will see the application open in the background with the login screen in front
   
9. Log in with the username and password that you registered with.
10. Types of SMS supported by the Bulk SMS online/offline desktop tool:
    You can use this online/offline desktop tool to send the following types of SMS:
    • English text 160 characters including spaces and punctuation. Sender id (the sender will appear on the receipient's mobile phone) could be a number or a name depending on the route you use and whether the network allows alpha and numeric sender id.
    • Type and send Arabic messages using Arabic keyboard into the text box (70 char including spaces and puntuation)
    • Unicode messages (70 char including space and punctuation)
    • Special characters: these are special characters for example @#$%^&*() which are used in Italian, Spanish etc. in 160 character messages - this requires that the route support such characters so please test before you send and Email us if the default routing does not support these characters.
11. Sender id / originator "From" requirement/restriction:
    • If you use letters and numbers (alphanumeric) do not exceed 11 characters. Use only characters from A to z and numbers 0‐9. (e.g. SMSFROM10)
    • No spaces are allowed in the sender id. (e.g. SMSFROM12345)
    • Do not use more than 14 numbers if your sender is a number (numeric) (e.g. 34523445322319)
    • Special characters are not allowed(!#@$%^*~?:”;). The may be some specific routes that allow special characters in the sender id but this would be subject to testing. We cannot guarantee that messages with special characters in the sender id would deliver. Clients use these characters in sender id's at their own risk.
12. Bulk SMS - "To" (number) requirements: You may also create a list of numbers in a .txt file and upload it to the SMS desktop application to send one message to a list of numbers (bulk SMS). The following rule applies when you send to any mobile number:
    • The number of the mobile that receive the SMS of the SMS should in its full international format. This excludes the leading +, 0 or the 00 notation (e.g. for South Africa it will be 27XXXXXXXXX). Messages not complying with the above might be rejected.
    • There should not be any spaces at the end of the numbers in the .txt file
    • Ensure that there are no spaces, commas etc. after the last number
    • Use a simple filename like file1.txt without spaces etc.
    • You may upload a maximum of 25,000 (Twenty five thousand) numbers per file for bulk SMS.
13. Address book: You may also add names and mobile numbers to the address book. Please remember that you should not use the leading +, 0 or 00 before any country code.
14. The same username and password used for the desktop tool may be used for Web SMS, Handset application, HTTP api or SMPP api.
15. Please note the following:

• If you close the desktop application during file upload, the upload will be lost.
• If your available balance is less than the amount of numbers in the file that you wish to send to during offline mode, you will receive a "Recharge your account"  message.
• If you are in online mode and your balance is insufficient, the system will send messages until such time that your balance is depleted and will then provide a warning message to charge your account

16. Close both the login window and the Hostapplication window in order to log out.
