SMSwarehouse Inc. announced the launch of the first in a range of handset applications which could be used by handset owners to send SMS using their Web SMS account.

15 January 2012 - Durban, South Africa - SMSwarehouse Incorporated launched the first in a range of handset applications which could be used by handset owners to send SMS using their Web SMS account. The handset application/s will be known and branded as UgoSMS - initially it will be made available under the SMSwarehouse brand but later on obtain its own identity as applications are added.

2011 Saw a major change in the SMS industry with handset companies launching handset applications for Smart phones.  Whatsapp, Blackberry, iPhone introduced a new era in the way handset users communicate and use their handsets. Inevitably SMS gateways have to adjust the way text messages are being sent, making it increasingly easy for the man on the street, especially business, to utilize their handsets and enjoy the benefits and convenience of one SMS account, with one username and password and many ways to log in and send SMS at the cheapest rate possible whether they are at home, in office or on the road.

Mobile handset devices all differ and developing applications that can run on many platforms and operating systems are quite complex.  Most handset owners do not understand the complexities in the development world - most of them just want convenience, easy-to-use, affordable once-off applications that increase the functionality of their handset.  Taking this into account, SMSwarehouse decided to use the existing Java platform which is already working on Desktops, the web and servers and extend its use to handsets.

Some interesting facts regarding Oracle's Java platform and the SMSwarehouse applications:

1. Desktop: Oracle claims that the Java runtime environment is found on over 850 Desktops - SMSwarehouse caters for this market with the use of our Bulk SMS online/offline tool.
2. Web server and Enterprise use: SMSwarehhouse WebSMS user and reseller platform which includes developer HTTP API and SMPP 3.4 Protocol.
3. Mobile handsets: Phase one launch of Mobile Web SMS handset application (branded UgoSMS) for use on Motorolla, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson handsets.

Our next step in development will include handset applications for Smart phones such as Android, Blackberry, Apple etc.  What most people do not realize is that Google's Android system uses the Java Language, but not the Java Class Libraries leading to the platform not being called Java - Android also executes the code on the Dalvik virtual machine instead of the Java virtual machine which brings about the difference.

UgoSMS is simply a Mobile Web SMS application which handset users download on their mobile handsets.  It allows users to send text messages from one account whether they send from their desktop, the web or their handset.  It allows for bulk SMS (200 numbers through a text file upload) to be sent from handsets - there is specific interest from business owners as far as this feature is concerned.
